Climbing Arch

Climbing Arch

The RAD Climbing Arch is a dynamic gross motor play piece designed to support strength, coordination, and imaginative movement for children 24 months and older. Inspired by Pikler style climbing structures, the Arch offers a distinct climbing experience that emphasizes upper body engagement and full body coordination.

Unlike a traditional Pikler Triangle, the rounded arch design places children in a more prone climbing position. This naturally encourages greater use of the arms, shoulders, core, and grip strength as children pull, push, and stabilize their bodies while climbing. The curved shape invites crawling over, hanging, traversing, and controlled climbing, supporting upper body strength and body awareness in a way that complements, rather than duplicates, triangle style climbing.

Handmade in our shop from premium Baltic birch wood, the Climbing Arch reflects RAD’s commitment to thoughtful design, sturdy construction, and quality materials. Each Arch supports at least 100 pounds per child, making it suitable for confident climbers and repeated daily use.

The Climbing Arch pairs easily with the optional Reversible Climbing Ramp, sold separately. The ramp can be used for climbing or sliding, or as a connector between the Arch, Pikler Triangles, and Play Cubes to create expanded climbing and balance setups. For even more versatility, the Arch can be flipped over and used as a rocker by adding a cushion, keeping movement play fresh and engaging.

While designed to encourage exploration and free form movement, children should always be supervised during use to ensure safe play.
